Why We Chose Property as Our Vehicle to Financial Freedom
When I started to think about what to share here, I realised that the thing that is really needed is a post about our why! Why are we ‘doing’ property? What is our goal in what we do? What do we have to offer?
So I thought I would start with why I say ‘I’ when really this business is all about ‘We’.
I often switch between ‘I’ and ‘we’ when I write. While I’m often seen as the face of the business and writing these posts, this is very much a joint venture — Denise & Chris.
Our Vision has always been rooted in family. We want to build something meaningful — not just for ourselves, but with our whole family. We want to create something they can be proud of, contribute to, and eventually take forward themselves. For us, property is the vehicle to create that: a legacy of security, opportunity, and freedom.
It’s also not just about refurbishing houses — it’s about creating homes. We want to be known for creating places where people feel safe, secure and comfortable. Whether this is to sell on or to rent, we want them to be secure in the knowledge that the home has been refurbished to a high standard and they’ll stay there for a long time making it their own. That’s what really makes it feel worthwhile.
We’re still early in our journey. There’s no portfolio to show off (yet!), but I’ve been working behind the scenes pouring time, energy, and money into learning the industry from the ground up. I’ve studied market trends, connected with experienced developers via networking and social media, explored creative deal strategies, and really immersed myself in everything from planning and finance to sourcing and risk. I’ve also invested in mentors who I trust to really support me — and they’ve absolutely delivered!
I also bring more than just my property knowledge to our efforts. With a background as a Director of Operations, I bring a strategic, detail-focused mindset and a strong grasp of budgets, planning, and delivery — skills that naturally feed into our approach to property. We’re not interested in shortcuts or shiny wins — we’re focused on building something solid, sustainable, and long-term.
Right now, I’m concentrating on identifying opportunities others might overlook, building strong foundations, and growing a pipeline of deals with lasting value. I’m especially drawn to Flips and Serviced Accommodation and am actively exploring projects aligned with those goals.
